    Newer truck owner.

Hello everybody! My name is Mike and I have a new to me 2007 Sliverado Classic. It has no mods right now just wanted a reliable dd.It has 54,xxx miles all highway.(thank god)! A one owner truck. Plans are exterior mods and something to help the 4.8 out in the power dept.Any suggestions would help.I had it weighed last week and about died from shock ,5040lbs with 3/4 a tank and nobody in it.Its a crew cab by the way and has a 3.23 gear ratio, not good for off the line but is very quiet at highway speeds. So far I have changed all the fluids and about to change plug and wires just to give me peace of mind. Being a ls1 based motor I figure ngk tr55s and some msd wires are to way to go. I never had a problem in my z28 with them.Chime in if you think something different. I look forward to reading your posts and maybe sharing experiences with these great trucks.

    Welcome.

I wouldn't mess with the plugs and wires if it was me. They are good for 100k.

seriously, spend that money on mods that will actually help you get more power. Maybe an intake, tune, exhaust, things like that. Nelson tune really woke my truck up.

Intake, tune LT's, no cats and exhaust. That list will make a noticeable difference, and not really break the bank. Should be around 1200 for all that.

Welcome. I would change the wires but not the plugs yet. Factory wires are almost 1000 Ohms even though they're less than a foot long. MSD's are about 40 Ohms. Your 07 already has the iridium plugs so you'll gain nothing by replacing them at 50K miles. GET A TUNE best $$$ IMO.

Thanks guys, I have been looking for some LTs and i think pacesetter has some. This is my 1st vehicle with drive by wire and i think that its holding that 4.8 back,I have no codes or ses lights but punch it anywhere below 40 and the truck moves pretty good, but after that it almost feel like its lost a crap load of power, will have to see if my tuner will data log it and see if something is up. The truck is still under warranty until 100000 miles and I cant do too much to it right now..
