    Diggin It In Dallas Texas

HEY PEOPLES JUST WANT TO SAY WHATSUP.... I WAS JUST LOOKING AROUND ONLINE AND FOUND THIS PLACE AND THOUGH TO JOIN. I HAVE A 2000 SILVERADO EXT. CAB W/ 5.3L THAT I'V HAD FOR 3 YEARS, I'M AN OLD SCHOOL HOT RODDER AND WANTED TO FIND OUT HOW GOOD THIS GEN 111 ENGINE COULD RUN I HAD ALOT TO LEARN, IT'S ALOT DIFFERENT THAN THE OLD SMALL BLOCK CHEV. I STARTED WITH THE CAM, HEADS & FUEL INJECTORS, THE STOCK HEADS WERE MACHINED FOR THE LARGER LS1 VALVES, FULLY PORTED & MILLED 030, INSTALLED A LINGENFELTER LS1 CAMSHAFT 500/220 114las AND 35LB INJECTORS, JET DST PROGRAMING, EDLEBROCK HEADERS, NO CATS, FLOWMASTER EXHAUST, COLD AIR INTAKE, 373 REAR GEAR, 80MM THROTTLE BODY & 100hp SHOT OF NOS....SS WHEELS, 285/50R20 GOODYEARS, 2IN REAR DROP, REAR SWAY BAR, LATE MODEL TAIL LIGHTS, SO FAR IT'S BEST TIMES ARE 14.92-MOTOR & 13.86-JUICE... I'M WANTING TO BORE THIS BLOCK AND INSTALL LS1 PISTONS TO BRING COMP. UP AND STEP THE CAM UP TO LIKE 525/ 235...AND A GEAR OF 4.10, HAS ANYONE BUILT A 5.7L FROM THE 5.3L,,, I HERE IT'S POSSIBLE....ANY INFO WOULD BE HELPFUL....THANKS

wow, you've left a lot on the table for improvement. Did you see the 100HP gain on a 5.3L for under $1000 on the front page of the website?

Yes, 5.3 bored to 5.7 dimension is very common and a good investment in adding HP. I'd say do it!
