Just registered...I am doing basic research for my next swap. I have a 1970 Chevy C10 driver that needs a new motor. I just swapped in the original rebuilt motor last year but for the second time someone referred me to a builder who didn't get the job done right.
I've battled broken pushrods, rockers, a balancer failure and bad valve timing to date [did the swap a year ago] and now I am hearing a faint rod knock down below.
Been thinking about getting 17-20 mpg and 300-325 hp from the same motor, hence the swap. I hope to get it done this summer with the help of two buddies [both ASE certified mechanics], so I am here to learn so I can help them with what we need to do!
