    Down for the moment!

Well i was cruzing around monday afternoon when a buddy who was ridding with me seen a 04 mustang gt. I turned around to catch him but i was caught by a red light. After the light turned green i hauled butt to catch up. He was headed out of town. About 3 miles down the road i see him coming back towards me so i turn around at the next median crossing. he was haulin ass! I layed it to the floor to run him down. I stayed around 100 then i layed in it again. Somewhere between 100-110 my tranny exploided, twisting the driveshaft in half. The half of a drive haft when into the median to my left and half my tranny was in the ditch to my right. The tranny was in pieces. Even found its shaft mangled in the ditch. I had to leave to go offshore that same night so i called a tow truck and left to go to work. Got any idea what happened? i guess im going to built the stock tranny and install stock stall. Hope nothing else is broken. The gas tank was beaten by half the driveshaft that is still connected to the rear end. I have never ran the truck hard or raced since i put the new drivetrain in (motor, cam, stall, and tranny) so it was not ragged out. ticks me off because i bought a built tranny so this wouldn't happen!

should not be the transmission's fault, most likely the driveshaft ballooned out of balance and broke. The force of that kind of speed could have shattered the output end of the transmission. You're going to have to do some investigating to figure what happened first.
