would i be better off just going to nelson's for a wiring harness, i have a small budget and if it can be done to put the too harnesses together i would like to do that.

I'm sure you don't intend to beat this to death, but the question about wiring has been answered, and I've posted that it can be done. Get a service manual for the 4.8 truck, and one for your '93 truck. YES, it can be done. Schematics are needed to map the wiring properly. You can also subscribe to ALLDATA (search the net for that).

As for your transmission... that's tough to say. One can only assume that you have a 1-piece 4L60. Question: Is it a 4L60 or 4L60E? Is it a 1-piece or a 2-piece (bellhousings are different, trust me, i know... the hard way)? Will the stock '93 torque converter be reused? If so, will it bolt to the flywheel of the 4.8? Probably, but these are the kinds of things you need to be sure of.

Again... I understand that you're looking for answers for your application, but that's probably been answered a time or two already. I know, personally, how aggrevating it can be to not get answers. However, I've found that various searches and readings to be of BIG help.

Now... what did the 4.8 come out of (year/model vehicle)? I have schematics for a 2000 RCSB Silvy. If your 4.8 came from a 99 - 02, I cannot see the wiring being much different. With that said, I will say that wiring is VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY TEDIOUS! I know THIS personally. Mine is complete, but there's a doubt with regards to my TCC circuit (422 - getting P0740 & no 3rd or 4th gear on a newly rebuilt unit). Let's just say Allen may get a request next year if my problem isn't with a faulty trans sensor.

    Good luck, and GO READ!!!

I have a 2000 silvy motor & trans. I don't know if your trans would work b/c of the year model. I think there's something with the spline count that's different on the input shaft. Not sure if that would matter if you kept your stock converter, but check to see if that'll bolt to the 4.8's flywheel. I can't answer that for ya.

As for the wiring... PM me your email, and I'll send ya the files I have for that series. If there's something you need, I'll do my best to find. I can't imagine anything's different b/t the '00 & '01 models. Maybe someone else has access to '01 stuff for comparison purposes. For what it's worth... I'd STRONGLY consider a harness from Allen (or others). I know budget may be an issue b/c that's what I said. There were times where I cuss'd & fuss'd (and still are) with the frustration of getting the wiring just right. For me, there's still one bug that I just can't say for sure that it's in the wiring. Take your time, but for a few hundred dollars (don't quote me, but it's not as expensive as Painless or Speartech), Allen can take care of your needs, and add an efan harness for a little more.

I think you have to slot the holes where the convertor bolts to the flex plate plus you have to buy the crankshaft extension and longer bolts to make it all bolt together, minus the one bolt on the top right on the bell housing.

Speartech is on the top of my personal list, but I haven't pulled that trigger yet. Because I want to contact Allen first. I obviously will need the box (pcm) worked on.

I too, wanted to just splice the engine harness into the truck harness. I am now going to stand alone a new harness and not deal with the hassle

Log into AllData, then click on Diagrams (left side with light blue background). After clicking that, there's a link called Connector Views. This is mostly what I used. The C1 - C5 series connectors (i think) are what I used most. These will have each pinout with a description of the circuit and function (feed & output). As Allen has told me, it's tedious. I'll say again... IT'S TEDIOUS! If you're going to go this route, you may want to look into the stock underhood fuse block, as the relays and such are recommended. I have the extra space, and incorporated the use of that fuseblock in my setup. Allen's harnesses look quite a bit more stealth. Good luck!
