I've got an 06 rclb and im thinking of doing a 6.0 6 speed conversion once the warranty is up. I think I have a good idea of the depth of the V6 to V8 swap, but I know nothing about putting a 6 speed in one. The truck right now has a 5 speed so all the pedals and lines are there, I'm just not sure if everything will hook up the same. I know it'll be a hard task to overtake but if I do my homework in the next 2 1/2 years I think I can get a good handle on it. If anyone has done a 6 speed converion or a 6 liter swap, please chime in with any comments or suggestions.

i agree, if u can wait then do it! by the time i save enough money for my tranny, i may just sell the 6.0 and go 6.2 idk wishful thinking for me. the only truck built for speed with a manual tranny is a regency rst to my knowledge, so i can see why ud wanna change that!

I'd contact a company by the name of Keisler and see if they'd have an T-56 that would work.

thanks for the comments and suggestions so far. I would kind of like to keep a manual transmission in the truck just because their fun and it already has the set-up for it. I would be open to the idea of the new 6 speed auto in the future, but cost pending of course. Thanks weird guy for the info, ill look into that company. I think a 6.0/6speed would be awesome in a "work truck" looking truck, you don't see many around like that.

My truck was orginally a 4.8 5 speed and I went to the LS1 with a 6 speed and it was a very easy conversion. You can use the hydraulic line from your current setup and it will plug into the slave cylinder on the 6 speed, you crossmember should fit perfect with no mods you will just need a shorter driveshaft and lower gears in the back.
