Would swapping an ls7 be as easy as a 6.0 swap? I just saw that thing in car and driver in the new corvette and it was badass.

Yeah, same principal. You'll need to locate a place to mount the oil scavenge tank and the dry sump may have some clearance issues but it looks like a sweet setup. You'll need deep pockets to buy one, $13,999 to $17,000 depending upon where you pick it up.

Gene@FredBeans.com would be a good contact if you're serious about one. He can get you the engine for just over $12,500 and you'll need to set up a dry sump system. He said he doesn't think it comes with it from the factory as part of the crate engine package.

    Holy bejeezus!!! 12,500!!

I'm loooking for this engine to blow sometime soon, the oil pressure has dropped almost 10 pounds the last few months...oh well.

that would be a sweet setupd to have definately. Didn't know the engines were that expensive though.

You think the trans/transfercase/rearend would be able to hold up to that torque?

yank the engine out and put new bearings in it before she blows. First, I would put a known good manual guage on it and see what the pressure reads or replace the pressure sensor and see if you get the same reading. If it truly has lost pressure I'd put new bearings and a pump in it before it gets realllllly expensive to replace. A junk engine isn't worth much after you spin a rod or seize it up.

    Good ideas, thanks.

If she does blow, I guess the 6.0 is in sight. There's no way in hell I can afford a $13K engine. I'd rather get a 6.0 and a Radix.

I think id be happy with either a 5.7 LS1 or a 6.0 LS2, I had origonally thought LT1 383 stroker but you dont spend enough $ for an LS1 over the cost of the LT1 to even justify the machine work not to mention $1500 for the new rotating assembly.

That LS7 is definately a nice dream to have though 427 cubic inches hauls ass no matter what you put it in.

Probably but it wouldn't hurt to put some cross beams on the frames or some support as they will twist. Not sure 500 is enough.

I have a car on order but it makes no sense to me to put that in a truck. Of course the car makes no sense either. So whatever makes you happy.

You can throw 1000+hp easily at that truck with a BB and a turbo. And tear stuff up right a left. You can spend $4000 and build your own BBC with close to that HP and more torque.

But motor is a masterpiece. Notice the cast pistons.
