Got my swap running, having Shifter linkage problems

Fired my swap up last night, 2 thumbs up to Jon at nelson performance!!

My linkage has issues, the part that runs from the frame to trans is too long, I can force it into the bracket on the trans but it causes the rod going up to the column to bind and hit the frame, anyone else have this issue?? My newer 4L60 was missing the bracket that bolts to the transmission so I used the one off my older trans, could this be the problem??

narrow the shifter rod or change the internal shift rod that is in the new 60e with the shifter rod in the old 60.

Ask a question anytime you need help, this site has been a huge help, only way one knows what to to is ask, someone here will be glad to help, I cut 1.5 inches out of my linkage today and had it re-welded, just make sure to cut it on the first straight part , do not forget to scribe a straight line on it so that you do not get the rotation out of place

Thanks for the congrats, you will have you'rs running soon, I'm finishing up my 4/6 drop, then I have to wait on the pieces for my air intake, upper radiator hose, coolant and exhaust is about all I like being finished

Yup exactly what he said, otherwise if its slightly twisted one way or another it throws the geometry way off and wont shift good when going from park to drive

I know the biggest thing killing me right now is I'm anxious to drive it!! I know it's gonna be a HUGE difference after driving the truck for thousands of miles with the 4.3 in it

Thanks for the encouragement,I know it's just a matter of time before I'm back on the road with the new powerplant! I also did a 4/6 drop on mine. I know I"ll be shooting some questions out when I get to the wiring part even though I have a nelson harness and tune. Wiring is my downfall,LOL.
