6.0 Swap into 79 Silverado Short Bed

I am swapping a 2006 Silverado 6.0 with 4L80E trans into my 1979 Chevy Silverado short wheel base truck.

Does anyone know what lower radiator hose will work with the 1979 radiator and the 6.0 engine?

Top hose from the 2006 truck worked fine for the top hose, but I need a lower hose.

    Any suggestions appreciated.

bend a coat hanger and go down to your local parts store...they'll usually let you find one that will fit. Might have to get a pipe to adapt two hoses together even.

Exactly what I did for a 70 Radiator to LT1 hose.

On my 81 I used the hose listed for the 305 from the factory and I think I cut some off but it worked great.

Thanks everyone for the information. Coat hanger is a great idea. And I can match it againist the hose GMCwantsLS1 mentioned. I have posted a few photos in my album. Should be ready for the cab and sheet metal soon.

Try a factory 2006 silverado hose, there are two, one for the 28" and one for the 34" radiators.

The 2006 28" hose is a great fit. I saved all the old stuff from the 2006 Silverado the engine and trans came out of and I had the old lower hose in my scrap pile. Did not even have to buy one. Thanks much. I attached a couple of photos to show the progresss I am making.

I just used a 2001 silverado lower hose on my 5.3 swap into an 86 shortbed. I had to cut it a little shorter, but it fits great.
