    6.0L/ 4L80E into a 1990 driveshaft questions

I was wanting to know what you guys with this swap were doing about your drive shaft?

I have the regular adapter plates on my motor and I know the 80 is longer than the 4l60. I also know my driveshaft has to be shortened but how much?
also what are you doing about putting the 4l80 yoke on the stock drive shaft?

2WD drive, regular cab short bed truck BTW

measure from the end of the output shaft to the rearend yoke. Give that dimension to the driveshaft company. take your shaft to them and have them put an 80e slip yoke on it with 1350 joints and a new yoke on the shaft to mate to it. You don't have an 80e with the bolt on type yoke, do you? To tell, pull the extension housing off and if there is an oring seal on the shaft its the bolt on style and not really suitable for your application, its better to have the slip joint style shaft on there. I'll see if I can find pics of both.

didnt these older ones come with a tranny mount the can be moved with bolts? Mine can. Just a thought, but maybe put the motor and tranny in, and maybe move them to fit the driveshaft... with a different yolk of course.
