I need help with Flood conversion

I just purchased a 2006 GMC sierra flood truck with a 4.8L in it. The motor is bad along with some of the electrical parts (ECU,BCM, etc...).

I found a 2004 Silverado with a 4.8 and 35,000 miles that I can get the whole truck (it has really bad rear end damage).

My question is what years use the same electrical components?

Do the 2004 and 2006 use the same ECU, BCM, and wiring harness?

    Thanks Greg

I would not use the BCM from a different year or model. What I would do worse case is get the part number off the 06 and compare it to the 04. Even then you'll need dealer programming if it's a match. Sometimes BCM's are latched to the original VIN after so many ignition cycles and cannot be reprogrammed to match the new VIN. You'll just have to try it and see. As far as the PCM, it should be the same and would only a tune to match options and a theft relearn for the engine to run.

Oh yea I forgot to mention that the 04 is 2x4.

Does that make a difference when using the motor and electrical stuff on a 06 4x4?

    Is the trany the same between a 04 2x4 and 06 4x4?

    Thanks for all the help!
