Hey guys I was wondering if anyone has any info on this swap I recently bought my buddies 94 extended cap sonoma for nothing and am wanting to put an ls1 into it. I already have a complete ls1 motor I just need a tranny and then some ideas or a path to follow to make this work.

Sell it to me, I'll double your money on it.

Two times nothing is still nothing, right? I can afford that and you'll have made a tidy profit.

Ok maybe it was for a little more than nothing but after I sell the stock motor and trans I wont be that bad I got it for 800 bucks and the body is straight except for one fender which will only cost 50 bucks for a new one.

    So any advice ?

    Hello,
I'm currently doing a 6.0L swap into a 98' S-10, I could probably give you some quick pointers.

JTR now makes a lot of the hardware you'll need to make the swap including motor mounts and headers (sanderson shorty's) in addition to a vette radiator that you'll need to use.
The wiring harness is quite pricey but is available at a few places online. I'm going with a ford 9" rear end the stock rear end will not be able to handle the new HP. Mmmm, what else, oh and your gonna need a feul pump to handle the LS1's pressure requirements. Let me know if you need to know anything else.

most of the time you can get on line or go to your nearest junk dealer and pick up a 4.8 / 5.3 or 6.0 with all the goodies complete for way less than you could prolly do buying it all seperate...

Ok I started disassembling this thing last night we are also bagging the front end so removed the whole front clip. I will be putting the motor in in the next two weeks.

Also what is JTR's website ?

go here ! ls1 conversions I have done thee ls1 conversions and you don't need to buy alot of stuff unless you want too. factory 98-99 ls1 manifolds will work and you can make your own mounts from the ls1 mounts. I always use a 1 5/8 " 4.3 radiator .You will have to cut the crossmember and use a 5.3 pan . If you want a/c , you will have to notch the pass frame rail . You can get a harness from current performance . I have pics of my ls1 rolling chasis on the site also .
