    2001 lq4 into 2005 rcsb

    thinkin about puttin an 01 lq4 into my 05 rcsb witha 4.3... is it ok to put a 2001 enigine in the 05? kinda a noobish question i know but just wanted to make sure there wont be any compatabilty problems other than wiring harnesses... was gonna hook it up to my 05 4l60e unitil i can afford the 4l80 swap.... ohh ya and is the reluctor tooth setup the same amount?

    throttle is gonna be different. DBW to cable and so forth, but thats not a big issue at all

    if you go get emissions tested, that might be interesting. Usually emissions regulations require that a PCM/program for the same year or newer vehicle be installed.

    Use the 01 longblock and reuse all your original accessories and you'll be fine. It should be a direct swap, no issues whatsoever. You'll keep your existing PCM and harness, and retune that one, so you won't have any issues with the model year in the PCM.

    i can seriously keep my harness??? thats the first time ive heard that...

    yeah, I don't think that V6 wiring harness is going to do you much good on a V8 GenIII engine.

    Ooh ****, sorry I didn't see that you were swapping from a V6. My bad You will have to swap harnesses.

    haha yeah thats what i was thinking... so here are the only problems i think i will run into...

    swapping an older engine into a newer bodystyle truck... since there is some kind of law against this... will i be able to get around it????

    theres no law against that to my knowledge. ull need to research ur first question there is a whole thread about the v6 to v8 swap. the throttle is the only diff i can think of everything else can be found in a post by dlh2006(derek).
