Thread: a/c, alt question..

    looking for a/c compressor and alternator for ls1 swap into 79 1/2 ton.

    can i use old 350 stuff? or do i need to find ls1 accessories to go with ls1 brackets?

    and i can use the old stuff, will the ls1 brackets work?

    you are kinda locked into using the lsx brackerty and accessories for
    a better price than zoops, s&p, and march backets and accessories.
    only baddy is the a/c. how its right in the frame area. most section
    what they need for install of compressor and box the cut area to
    retrieve some strength back.

    ok, thanks. i have located all the accessories from a ls1, and for a good price, just cant get the guy to call me back. i dropped the motor and parts off this week with the truck to be installed, and was suppsed to go sunday to get the accessories, if he would just call me back.

    Be sure that whatever accessory drive kit you get matches your front pulley. LS1 has to have LS1 accessories, trucks have truck, vette has vette. They don't interchange due to the depth and diameter of the front crankshaft pulley. Are you installing a true LS1 or just a Gen3 engine?

    it is a ls1 out of a 2000 SS. i am supposed to be getting the ls1 accessories from a 99 t/a, including the crank pulley. he still hasnt called me back though...
