I just installed a 5.3 in my 1990 suburban and I need help finding what color wire and where to connect it to the truck harness to make the speedometer work? I have found the wire from the pcm /speedometer feed wire, just need where to connect it. Thanks for any help.

I did a 92 and 93 conversion but for some reason I believe the 88-91 was missing the 3" square white box behind the glove box. If you have that box, cut the light blue with black stripe wire and tie it into the one coming from the PCM. Cut it on the side of the white box closest to the driver.

What if you don't have that box? I have an 89 Silverado that I am droping a 98 Vortec 454 and 4L80-E into.

I don't know. My buddy has a 89 too and I let him figure that one out.

On the 88-91 c/k's the DRAC/VSS buffer is built into the instrument cluster.
That probably is of no help to you.

Didn't the 90 Subs. still have a cable driven speedo?

The 90 suburban speedometer is electric. Would their be a problem if I spliced into the wire just behind the cluster?
