Thread: Six-Pin Connector (and two-pin connector)

I just bought a 2006 6.0L (LQ4) engine to swap into another chassis. I subscribed to AllDataDIY to get all of the wiring diagrams and connector diagrams. Unfortunately though, they don't have the 2006 info posted yet, so I had to subscribe to the 2005 data, and there appears to be some differences.

I'm having trouble identifying three connectors comming from the engine harness. One is a six pin weatherpack with the following wires:

Red/Black (large)
Orange
Black (large)
Tan
Yellow
Light Blue/White

The other two appear to be identical one on each side of the engine. They are two-pin weatherpacks with a green and a black wire each.

Can anyone help me identify what these connectors should be connected to?

Thanks,
Jay

i'm having trouble finding that connector... do you have the vin number the engine came out of???
is the harness the same one that came on the engine??? how about more pics... some that show placement of where the connectors come out of the harness and where at on the engine... i have looked at pics of every single connector on the whole truck... this is a quest now...

The first connector looks like the one that hooks to the windshield wiper. The second one looks like a sensor connector. Water temp, knock, map or one like that.

I just thought, that wide connector looks like the A/C control connector on a van. The other could also be related to something off of a van. Since there is a large gauge red wire there it definitely powers something like a motor of some sorts.

This engine did come from a 2006 Express Van (one ton). The 6-pin connector is located near the right (pass side) front of the engine.

When you say "AC control" do you mean that this connects to a harness that goes to the HVAC controls in the cab? Does this mean I will need to get all of the HVAC stuff from the cab to make the AC work? Is there a separate HVAC computer?

Thanks,
Jay

There are two of the 2-pin connectors, and they look identical and have the same color wires (green and black). There is one on each side of the engine. I have looked everywhere on the engine and trans and can't find any place where they would plug in. All of the sensors you mentioned are accounted for, so I'm assuming that these connect to somthing other than an engine sensor. I can't find them in the list of connectors or schematics on AlldataDIY.

Thanks,
Jay

The flat 6 pin goes into the a/c air box and powers the fan speed control. You can most likely leave that disconnected unless you really need it. Maybe the other two go to a/c high and low pressure switches.

Yup. I checked AlldataDIY again, looking for HVAC connectors, and found them. The 6-pin goes to the blower motor resistor assembly, and the two-pin goes to the Low Pressure switch. I guess there are two of these in the system, since there are two identical connectors with the same color wires. The High Pressure switch connector is a little different. Thanks for your help! All connectors are now accounted for...
