I am in deep sh**t here , this is a long running problem I have had here with the 2005 E-Fans and Nelson harness , Redheartbeat and a few others have commented on this topic before .
Redheartbeat , I took your diagram of the wiring harness and used the Nelson harness I have and tried to make a workable harness , but when I followed the diagram the fans do not work correctly .
I went over and over the diagram and the relays to make sure that I did it as the diagram shows .
To refresh , the Nelson harness when installed causes a large draw on the electrical system when the A/C cycles on and off , with the 2005 E-Fans (fans run on high) .
Last I heard Allen was going to send bulldog5.3 a diagram of how to rewire so that the fans did not run in high when A/C was on , that has been some time ago and I may have missed the post .
Again :
1. No Oper temp reached no A/C no fans
1. No Oper temp reached and A/C on, fans run low speed
2. Oper temp reached no A/C fans run low speed
3. Oper temp reached A/C on fans run low speed
4. Xtreme temp A/C on fans run high speed
5. Xterme temp no A/C fans run high speed
So basicly fans run in low speed unless exterme temps are reached .
So now I have no truck to drive until I get this fixed .
Now what is a tune again?

I wonder what you're doing wrong? That wiring diagram works great in my truck. I've not had a single issue with it so far. What are you doing wrong?

I think you're truck must be possessed. Did you have your PCM programmed for the electric fans? Has it been to the dealership anytime between now and when it was reprogrammed? They may have reprogrammed your PCM. Do you have the terminal plugged into the PCM to turn the fans on? It should ground when temp is reached. This can be verified with a test light hooked to a power source and the PCM lead to see what temp the PCM turns the fans on when wired correctly. Testing the function of the ground wire in the PCM would be my first test, very important operation there.

The PCM has the pins turned on (pin42 , pin33) . Might just be my eye sight or not really knowing what I am doing .

Its not you man, i have just learned to deal with the amp drawing problem, i even went to the extremes of buying a smaller alternator pulley and it helped a little and no allen never sent me anything on both fans working for 2 fans on 6 volts low speed instead of 1 fan 12 volt high

Hey cowl327 what are you doing? Are you serious about helping or being stupid?

What I would do is find a wire in the a/c harness that is powered or grounded any time the A/C is turned on and have it keep the high fan relay "ON" any time the A/C is on. There is no reason to cycle off and on. If the A/C is on, the fans should be on doing it's best to keep all the temps down.

The relay that triggers the fans from the A/C wiring can be reversed as required. You can ground the triggering coil or power it off of a 12v source depending on the requirements of the harness. It's not a high amperage load to trigger the relay.

Both fans should kick on high when triggered. I can check mine out tomorrow maybe and double check it. It worked on the bench. I don't have A/C working yet so I'll have to do the old fake-a-roo to test out that circuit again. I tried it when I installed the relays in the truck and it worked properly or I would not have give up on it.

What are you guys doing to the transmissions? I've never touched an 80E but as you can tell, nothing scares me. I can build a 60E blind now dammit!

Which kit do you think you're going to use? I ask because the HD2 kit goes quite deep into the install and most parts won't be used unless you tear the transmission down. The SK kit should be sufficient to get it back where it was. I am impressed with the Superior billet aluminum 1-2 and 3-4 servos. They are so simple to install that it's a shame not to do them.
