i have a clerion flip screen in my truck and about a week ago it started shuting off by its self then would come back on by its self staying off between 2-10 mins at a time. then the other day i was at lunch an d it was working great, then i go to go home friday after work and it wont turn on and still wont, the subs and amp are still getting power but the deck wont do anything, and is making a ticking sound, the decks about 2 years old any ideas?????? thanks for the help guys.

Doesn't sound good. Sorry I cant help. IMO, it sounds like an internal malfunction in the unit.

I'd say bad clarion. If you have power at both acc and constant then it is definitely radio problem.

My clarion Double DIN unit has had similar problems, the wiring harness on the Clarion Units have changed from the old kind they had. They have that box that has the light in it now with resistors and crap. Mine would shut off while driving down the road and if i pulled over and cycled the key, it would come back on. I am buying a 2010 DD unit today and the wiring harness is back like the old ones, the little rectangular black box on the yellow lead. Not sure what was up with mine, but it also affected battery voltage in 2 different vehicles now. I also have amps and subs on mine. It is goin in the trash.

ya i really dont know what to do, i tryed to call clarion but didnt get any were, the biggest problem is that the flip screen is stuck in the up position, any ideas on how to get it to come down so i can atleast i can remove the deck to check the wiring behind it? thanks for the help guys....

if you can at least make it fold straight then you can get the trim off. If it is already broke then what have you to lose? This is why I am an Eclipse(R.I.P.) or Kenwood fan. never had problems with those two brands. I had problem after problem with the two clarions I owned.

well after a hour time to get 3 bolts loose i found out the harness's had a loose wire i cleaned the harnesses and put some goop in it and seems to be working fine? lol
