Thread: 94 Dash swap

    94 Dash swap

I was wondering if anyone knows if a dash from the 95-98 dash and door panels will swap into a 88-94. Looking at everything the only things that look different may be wiring for A/C radio and misc others. Help or comments would be great.

I know the door panles are pretty much a direct swap. I think you may have to replace the black plates on the door too. I don't know personally but an old friend did the door panels in his truck. Anything is possible, you just gotta have time, patience, smarts, and of course balls.

Ok cool. I mean looking at it it all looks the same. My dash has a crack and i dont want to upholster it, and the shape of the newer dashes are more sleek and appealing to the eye.

and more accessible. I hated having to reach half way across the truck to reach the radio. I would think the dash would swap but I'm not sure, there is always something stupid that holds you up. One easy way to get around the a/c dilemma is extend the wiring to mount the original controls in a custom console or something like that and use the space in the 95-98 dash for some gauges. Or you could always do something like this one that my old boss did........Chuck's Car Stereo - Kyle's Chevy C1500

95-96 dash is not nearly the same as 97-99.

They won't let you have a custom dash in Cali? I knew they were strict on emissions but dayamn.

I know the 97-99classics are different but that's cos they had airbags. I'd go for 95-96. Passenger airbag was an option in 96 tho wasn't it? Or was that 97 that it was an option.
