    Rattles

Hey guys I am a to the truck world, but used to the ls motor. My new truck 03 Silverado Z71 has a major case of the rattles. The guy that had it before me had everything out of the cab and installed all aftermarket speakers and had a few different radios and wires and sh!t everywhere. I took most all of that out, but have not touched the speakers yet. What rattles bad in these trucks? Is it wires in the door panels? They all seem to be tight and clipped in properly. Is there something behind the bench seat that rattles? It's driving me nuts, hopefully these trucks are not just like that.

well.....its kinda hard to diagnose a rattle without the truck.....I know mine never rattles but if it looks like the guy was a hack or at least whoever did the stereo work was a hack(which is very very common) then it could be anything. crossovers not mounted good, dangling wires, anything. good luck with it, best thing to do would be to figure out where its coming from and then try and find what it is.

Window regulator bolts are commonly loose in the doors as well as the stock door tweeters. The jack may be loose under the rear seat if extended cab.

Ive also had a back seat rattle because the rubber bumpers in the hooks that hold the seat to the back wall were torn out, slid some rubber over them and it was gone. you might also check the plastic piece that goes from c-pillar to c-pillar under the back window, that thing rattled like crazy in my white truck and another truck I did a bedcut in.

Had the backseat out yesterday and the rubber bumpers were torn out on both sides. Did you slip rubber over the hooks attached to the back of the cab, or the hooks attached to the back of the seat? What kind of rubber did you use? Thanks man!
