    Rolling a fender lip

The new tires on the camaro rub the fender lip when I hit bumps. Has anyone had any experience "rolling" the lip of the fender to gain more clearance? There is a tool out there that is supposed to make it easy. Does anybody know where I can rent one? They cost $300.00 to buy.

I know this isn't about a truck, but the camaro forums suck. Seems like everyone is out there just to talk **** and not actually help.

    Thanks

Some guy on LS1tech i think had one he'd rent out for like 125.00 Several people were on the list to use it when I saw it several months ago.

all my projects I've just cut a few notches, then hammer the lip up and in, weld up the notches. this was all done when I was going to paint later so I'm not sure how to do it without wrecking your paint.

I have heard of rolling a baseball bat between the tire and lip.

Discount tires has them and can roll your fenders for you. I don't know what they charge though. Eastwood sells the tool, too.

RollYourFender.Com - Home - Fast, Easy, & Affordable Professional Fender Lip Roller Rental rents the tool, I forget how much it cost me when I did it, but it was pretty straight foward and easy to do. You can also buy the tool from Tire Rack, I think its about 300 dollars.

its actually pretty easy. just requires good communication with driver of the truck. insert bat, tubing pipe whatever you want to use between the front of tire and fender and apply downward pressure. now have a friend slowly drive truck backwards while applying downward pressure on tubing. if you use large enough diameter tubing the weight of the truck will actually help in rolling fender. im not talking huge here key is little at a time. might have to do each side couple of times to get just right.. we have done it many times in our body shop......gene

STSSilverado is referring to his Camaro having the fender rubbing problems, not his truck; but i'm sure the same procedure would work
