I got a weird email threatening to expose me—what’s going on?
Hey folks, has anyone ever received one of those random emails claiming they have access to your webcam or private info, and threatening to send stuff to your contacts unless you pay? I got one today and I have no clue if it’s just spam or if I should actually be worried. What should I do?

Yep, unfortunately that’s a pretty common scare tactic now. It’s known as a “sextortion scam,” and it’s designed to freak you out into sending money fast. Usually they have zero real info on you—just vague threats and maybe an old password they found in a data breach. The best thing you can do is not engage, change your passwords, and report it as phishing. For a detailed breakdown of how these scams work and how to handle them, check out this guide: https://www.webpronews.com/sextortion-scams/ . It walks through what these emails typically say and what steps you should take.

Lately I’ve noticed an increase in phishing emails that look super convincing. Some even mimic company addresses. Always double-check before clicking anything suspicious.
