Thread: 99-00 4l80e bin file, also ? abot vats

  1. #1
A friend of mine has a 99 chevy, he just installed a 4l80e. His tuner, who shall remane nameless, (but it was not Allen) sent him two ecm's one is his 99 and the other is a 02. the 99 works, but with the 02 ecm truck does not shift right or have all the gears.

I told him I could take a look at the tune and make sure it was a 80e file, so he sends me the ecm and it turns out to be a 2002 ecm with 1999 bin, (wich I can't tune because I don't have the license for a 99.)
I was going to use my old 2000 ecm, but I don't have a 80e bin. this is were you come in, if anyone could sent me a 99-2000 80e ( calliedusty@sbcglobal.net ) I'd be very thankful.

Also what about vats? I know when Allen sent me my 2002 ecm with a different vin I had no problems...
    Any help would be great!

You got mail, 2000 Silverado HD, 6.0L, 80E.

Hmm, I wonder why someone would put a 99 file on a 2002 pcm. Not really taking advantage of the 2002 pcm.

As far as shifting wierd, I know when someone starts mixing PCM service numbers and OS's that weren't meant to be, strange things will happen.

    good luck,
    allen
