I just bought this truck the end of June. It was from Rockwall, Texas and the owner apperently traded it in here in Virginia.
After devouring information here and other forums, keeping in mind the equipment on this truck, and the slightly savage way it drives, I am not really sure what I have.
The savage issue is that a very light throttle opening will produce nice docile driving but then just a little more throttle and it explodes. It seems like half to 2/3 throttle causes it to wind out and shift around 5000. Full throttle will produce a 5600 shift point.
For a 99 Silverado 5.3 L60 3.42 EC 2WD, the in town gas mileage of 16 and interstate 70 mph gas mileage of 20 to 20.5 seem a little high.
Anyway, Allen would check to see if you have ever tuned this truck before.
Previous owner was Robert Wright of Rockwall, TX.
The VIN is 2GCEC19T7X1253962.
Thanks,
Jim
