    Anybody with HP Tuners?

I am looking at buying a HP for my 03 Silvy, with a 4.8! I have heard they are the end all to tuning these trucks. I literally have 0 experience level on this subject, but have been reading everything I can get ahold of. Amy suggestions on how to learn more?

Its easy, just plug in to truck. when it loads up, just push the increase power button, then choose your octane level, boost level, shift points, tire size, rear gear ratio... simple as that, wait... thats hypertech.... jk, Its not easy, and the only way to learn is to read, read, and read some more, then start small. If you can find someone that is GOOD with hp tuners, they could help a lot, but there are not many people out there... lots of wannabe tuners... You will be much better just getting a tune from someone like Nelson performance.

The best advice I have ever heard:... Only take B( . Y . )ST advice from someone that is CURRENTLY running a turbo setup close to, or bigger than what you want......

If you have a stockish truck you should just buy a tune. If you constantly need to be changing stuff then hp is nice to have. Nelson provided a great base tune and now I fine tune myself instead of bugging them for 100 retunes a year.

Dont flatter yourself in here saying its on the way to being built. The two that gave you the best advice run 9s for fun. Thats built! And $$$$$$

Where you from? If you are near a reputable tuner have them do it for you. If you live too far away from a good tuner then email tune is a good plan. If you aren't going FI or big cubes I would suggest a mail order tune from NP or the likes.

Hp Tuners website is a nice place to read and learn, a stock truck is a nice platform to start out at, build as you learn pending how far you planing on going with the truck.

to answer the last question in red is by buying it and taking baby steps and learn as you go
    Simple: 408 on steroids!

I have a 03, 4.8 w/ the 60e. I have a CAI, cut cats and a flowmaster. Next thing I need is a tune. After that, I'm starting on a trans build, or a built rear. Eventually I'm doing a 6.0 swap, with nitrous and possibly a cam. That's why I want to buy an HP

Sounds to me like you are a perfect NP mail order customer. They have probably tuned about 50 trucks exactly like yours.
