    Turbo and megasquirt for 5.3l

I have a 04 silverado and just got what appears to be a t4 turbo for it. i have never put a turbo on a truck so i kinda need some help. i was looking into megasquirt for the engine management but again im new to this so some direction would be nice. im dont make bill gates salary so im obviously on a budget. i got the turbo for 120 and it needs rebuilt which is 400 at the most. im trying to do a complete set up for under 2000. if anyone has some suggestions please note. thanks Dan

Dump the idea of the ms for engine management. The stock PCM does just fine.

x2 The GM PCM is more than capable of managing your setup. Plus, It's already there and wired up.

Under 2000 is not realistic for a newbie. Get a bigger budget or start reading and learning.

Haha! I'd take this as a challenge if I were you, Dan They are more than likely right, but if you can work some of the $$ out with trades/deals, go for it. I love it when nay-sayers get proven wrong, lol! GLWYB!

The key is, how much power and how far he wants to take the truck.

Why not? Build it yourself and it could be done.
Nonintercooled with flipped manifolds piping is only $2-300
    Tune $300
    Waste gate, bov $200

    Fuel pump $100-200
    Injectors $400

I think $2000 would be really tough but not impossible. Some of us shoot for the moon, but a budget build can be done. just can't have big expectations. Like farmtruc said only so much can be done on any given budget.
