    87/89 dual tune

Hey guys, I've been out of the tuning game for awhile, and I'm looking to spice up my 2009 Silverado w/5.3 a bit. I know on my 04 5.3L, the timing could be around 28-29 degrees at peak HP with 93 octane. I'm only looking to run 89 running around town and towing, then 87 on any out of town driving. I did notice the stock tune is about 14 at peak hp, so I am trying to figure out how much I can safely increase with just going to 89. Does 16-18 degrees sound about right, with 5-6 degree drop for the lower table or am I completely off on my thinking?

Every motor is different. Add timing until it knocks, then pull it.

My cousin wanted a tun, but wanted to stick with 87. If I remember right at WOT I could put 8 degrees in it before it knocked and it took 13 at cruise ranges

Ok, I think I will start with the WOT timing, then slowly add in part throttle. I remember on my Avalanche, I didnt have to add in a whole lot at part throttle. I'll try at lunch and let ya'll know how it goes.
