    5.3 with 4.8 tune

So talked to a prior owner of my truck, and he informed me that there is actually a 5.3 in the truck, not the original 4.8 that I assumed was somewhat unmolested. So I realized that I've been running tunes for a 4.8 on the truck since I got it. I know I need to get it properly tuned (Allen you may get a call as soon as I finish up some maintenance) but my question is, is there any chance I may have hurt anything running a smaller engine tune on it?

No long term fuel trims should have adjusted fueling. Not that big of a difference to cause any damage. Loss of MPG and HP yes but no damage.

Good to hear. Thanks guys! Soon as I get these knock sensors replaced I'll have it retuned and see just how much more I get out of it.

I agree it is a big difference because the Main VE, Cranking VE, Idle, and etc. tables are completely wrong. However, it is close enough for long term fuel trims to learn the fueling. Not good but no damage.

right off the bat the cylinder volume is different which is going to throw all fuelin calculations. THis itself is very easily overlooked even in other tunes
