    Hptuners worth it?

Im currently swapping a lq4 in a 92 chevy with manual trans. I know there is a lot of stuff i need to remove to get rollin and I like to get hptuners just to play around with and for future upgrades but just wondering if it the best bang for buck tuner or if theres better out there?
and I call myself a mechanic...

It's like this... If ur doing a bone stock motor and never plan to upgrade or race... No real need. But if ur like most people on here u constantly change things. Hpt is not the best tune for ur truck. But u can either learn to tune it or u can pay a tuner a fee to tune it through emails. I'm am goin to buy hpt very soon. And in retrospect. I should have gotten it first thing. It allows u to log ur truck. Make subtile changes. Opens u up to a world of tuners that don't have the mail order option. Make any sense?

Worth. Every. Penny. I don't have to wait on anybody else, I don't have to pay anybody else, I'm a lot more knowledgeable having learned to do it myself. And best of all my cable has nearly paid for itself doing other peoples vehicles.

If you've ever used Excel you'll catch on pretty quick. As far as finding out what does what, that takes a while.

    +1

But the learning is not that easy, and most people, even pro tuners learn something new every time.

You have to give it time and patience.

BASIC things...easy. Tuning diferent setups.....well lets say you can do some mathwork formulas in excel, but you wont be a pro accountant !

If I am correct black bear is a tuner that uses either efi live or hptuners. And u have fanatics of both software. Around here weapon of choice is hptuners for the most part.
To the op. Worth it so much I bought mine today
