    tuner for 09 chevy

hi everyone! i just bought myself an 09 chevy quad cab 4x4 with a 5.3 six speed and i love it! but i would like to tune it, adjust the rev limiter, shift points, torque management etc. would would be my best option? i had a diablo for my 04 chevy and one for my ws6 but it's my understanding they dont offer torqu management tuning any more?

HpTuners, EFILive, etc... is the only way to go with tuning. it can do anything you could ever want to do as far as tuning is concerned...

my suggestion to you would be to find a local tuner that still knows what hes doing!!!!! Allen is a good tuner, but its just way more convenient IMO to have a local tuner, assuming he can still get you a good tune.

i live in the middle of nowhere. there is no such thing as a local tuner lol. my only real option is a handheld tuner, and i like doing my own vehicles. i dont need every last hp i just want to tweak it to my liking.

i would for sure say go for it and do your own tunning! but theres a TON of stuff you can change with these new trannys.... its very intimidating when you see it, but of course it is something that can be learned.

you could get yourself HPTuners and then get a tuner like Allen to help you with your tunes via email.

right on thanks! i think there's alot left on the table with this truck in the tuning department when it comes to shift points and torque management

especially with the 6l80! tunning that thing is HUGE!! especially in the day to day driving around town department... the two tunes ive had from two different tuners are night and day different, but i guess that all comes down to your personal preference.

look around some more, and if you think you could handle it id say get yourself the HPTuners software and see what you think of it, and if its too much contact a professional tuner and get them to help you over email.

i've been looking into it and it seems pretty involved and not too cheap, but it seems pretty cool and i've been wanting to learn more about custom tuning so it might be the way i'll go
