Ok guys hope someone can help I have a 07 Silverado classic 4.8L 13,000 miles and it is slow as a turtle. with on 13 mpg city 15mpg highway. K@nN drop in filter I wont be adding any performance mods but was wondering if I got a tuner for could it wake this truck up just alittle and maybe better gas milage. Tranny seems to stay in first gear to long. If so what would be the cost I could spend up to 1,000 Including labor for a little better ride.

    Thanks

Welcome to the site! Probably the best bang for the buck would be a tune...recommend Nelson tune. You won't be disappointed! Links on the home page to Nelson Performance website...

That MPG is horrible. I know the 4.8 is way underpowered but ought to make better MPG than a V6 that's almost the same in stock form. Sure there is nothing wrong with it?

I get an average of around 23mpg (once managed 26), just as a reference.

For a better ride go with some Billsten Shocks on all for corners. And go with the Nelson Tune for the win. The Shock are really easy to change out. I wouldn't pay anyone to remove and replace 6 blots in the front and 4 blots in the back.

Do you know what gear ratio you have? Gear swap might be needed to really wake that truck up.

That seems like really low gas mileage. I am still getting 17 mpg on the highway.... And mine is way off of stock....
