I have an '04 Tahoe. I installed 20" wheels and purchased a Hypertech Programer to adjust the speedo. Since my wife drives the tahoe I programed it for 87 octane and left the rest of the settings stock. When I did this the driver information center read "Reduced Engine Power". I could understand why. A few weeks later when I was experimenting I reprogramed it for 93 octane and the driver info center read "Reduced Engine Power. I was somewhat confused. Just being curious, I returned the stock programing and the driver info center read"Rerduced Engine Power".

Yes, I know its the correct programmer. I did not read in the manual anything that stated this would happen. It seems that this is normal so I won't worry about it. I'm sure a nelson program would be alot better but the tahoe is my wifes daily driver so the Hypertech will have to do. Now my '01 Silverado is another matter. It will get a Nelson, maybe aroung Christmas.
    Thanks for your info guys.

    straight from their site.

    J. PROGRAMMING
IMPORTANT NOTE: On certain applications, the dash message center may display random code information such as reduced engine power. This is a NORMAL step during the programming process for certain applications
