Hey guys, I got a question. My wife was driving my truck today and the check engine light came on and the truck was running rough. Like a good little wife she is. She stopped turned off the engine and called me.. When I started the truck up I knew it dropped a cylinder. Turns out a plug wire came off #8. HOW I DON'T KNOW. you can't get the dam things off when you want to!!!!! NEways the check engine lights still on.. You guys think it screwed up anything else. And how can I make that dam light go away

PS at a stop light the temp will go up to 200-210. Even with the 160*Stat...Is this normal and can I fix it??? Besides moving from Texas to New York.

If the plug wire fixed the misfire, the SES light will go off after so many engine cycles (forgot how many exactly). Or you could go somewhere that has a code reader, like a autoparts store, and have them clear it.
The temps sound high but might be normal if you have the stock fan setup. Even with the 160 thermo the stock fan clutch is still only going to engage when it gets that hot. My wifes stock Tahoe runs about that at idle with temps like they have been here in Austin.
