    Code po174/po171

On the way home from work my idiot light came on. So I stopped in at autozone to get a half ass answer. Well they told me po174/po171. It could be alot of things. I do have a CAI so it could be the MAF sensor. Should I bring it to a dealership to have them check it out? Any clues how to diagnose the problem.. It seems to run ok.. I did notice the idle went down for a second. I have been reading on forums about Intake gaskets but thats hard to beleive. Please write back if you have any suggestions.

04's rarely have intake gasket vacuum leaks although it is common on the older versions.

You need to check fuel pressure and check for vacuum leaks 1st.

I started it up this morning and the light is off. Its a little warmer today so I don't know if that was the issue or what. I'm not going to worry about it till it comes back on again. I hate idiot lights..

So either its bad 02 sensor or a vac leak? How hard is it to check for vac leaks?

It's not. Use a scanner to watch STFT and spray alcohol based foaming glass cleaner on hoses, fittings, and gaskets and watch for a rich condition.

BTW.....PLEASE!!!! For the love of God and humanity nothing has ever or will ever THROW codes.
