    Question custom tune ?'s

Is a custom tune the only way to get rid of the Torque Management? Will hand held tuners also get rid of it? Or at least some of it...

    Thanks in advance

The only handheld I know if that removes TM is the diablosport predator. It gives you 3 settings to turn off. A custom tune will give you a lot more performance for the money, because they aren't too far apart in pricing. I bought the predator for now because of the TM removal and its ability to be a scantool.

Thanks, but the problem is that there are no custom tuners in my town. I have been looking at the mailorder custom tunes though Especially Nelson Performance Tune.....

if your only going to do a few boltons then get the handheld programmer, stock for stock there close in comparison, but you can set it to stock any time you want.

Now if your going with more mods then the custom tune is the way to go!

before the flamming starts, I had a hand held programmer and a custom tune and ran the same times, the custom tune was played with for several times before going better.

I do have a couple of bolt-on's (CAI, Flowmaster) but my NBS 06 felt more powerful and sportier than my newly acquired NNBS 08 Vortec Max. And my 06 was completely stock. I just hear all of this talk about messing with the Torque Management or removing it and was thinking of buying a handheld programmer removing the TM (if there is a such a programmer!!!) and hopefully it wakes-up my truck!!! If there isn't a programmer capable of removing the TM then a mailorder tune is in the future!!! And then hopefully my feelings of regret will go away

Handhelds are far too generic and if you have a tuner that really knows what he is doing it will out perform a handheld any day of the week..I also have ran both and let me tell ya...night and day diff.
