cable throttle 2005 5.3 with Drive By Wire ECM

I have a 2005 5.3 from a GMC Savanna van that is factory cable throttle. I'm using it in a conversion project. Unfortunately it didn't come with a harness or ECM. I purchased a 2006 silverado harness and a 2004 avalanche ECM (service #12586242). Both are from drive by wire vehicles. I've modified the harness with the correct plugs on the throttle body for the TPS and IAC and connected those wires to the correct pins at the ECM as per the 2005 van wiring diagram. The guy that is doing the reprogramming my ECM has never converted form DBW to cable throttle. My question is can he use the flash from a DBW vehicle (which is every truck but the van) and just delete the electronic throttle control or does he have to use the flash from a van with cable throttle? Has anyone done this before and can you tell me what's involved? Thanks in advance.

i am doing the opposite. it would be easier and cheaper imo to convert to dbw. as for your question i would try and flash it with the 02 drive by cable. but, ive never looked at a savanna tune before and dont really know what os it uses. im sure it is simple, youll just have to research it a lil.

oh also, check out your alternator wires from your 06 harness. it should be a 2 pin. check your alternator to see if its a 3 pin.
just a lil fyi that suprised me and figured i would keep you from having the same problem.

From what I've reseached the 02 won't work in an 04 ecm. Both the alternator and harness are two wire by the way, thanks.

why dont you want the dbw?

I have a cable TB and a pedal and a cable hooked up already. I would have to buy everything except the flash.

where you located? we picked up the controller, pedal and tb for just under a hundred.

what tuning software is your tuner using?

I'm on the west coast of Canada. My tuner is using Tunercat I believe but also has access to EFI Live.
