Hey guys, if you need any tips or questions answered about your newly installed pcm, feel free to ask here, or as always, give me a call.

I just talked to a guy that put his in, he noticed some knock at wot.
My suggestion: install your new pcm and drive it for about 10 mins; normal to slightly aggressive driving. After that, feel free to drive it as hard as you want, heheh. After the install and some miles, his truck doesn't ping anymore. Thanks for the call btw, I should include that tip in a faq or something.

Security relearn: it's not really talked about much but almost all 99-02 trucks require it, if your truck doesn't start go here and try this: Security Relearn?

I'll be adding to the post as questions arise

    thanks,

    allen

OK Allen----looks like you are the man in the know. AND, I think it's great that you offer your advice on this forum. That said, I have 2 questions:

    1) Is there any product available that will let you tune a 1997 truck with the 5.7 Vortec? I don't mean the Hypertech.

    2) Is it possible to swap a 1999 PCM into the 1997 for tuning purposes?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hey Allen, hate to change the subject here, but did you recieve my core unit yet? This is the one for the 2004 that you were having to re-program and send back to me. Just wanting to make sure you got it cause I sent it the week that I got the tuned unit from you. Looking forward to getting my original back with correct vin#.

    Thanks.
