I have the nelson performance pcm in my truck. It is going in for service on thursday. Could they screw anything up if they "flash" the pcm?

Are you sure? I thought someone(think it was Allen) said that when load a custom tune via LS1Edit, it looks (to anyone...dealer, etc.) like it's the tune that came from the factory...granted it's a little "tweaked out"
I bet when the dealership mechanics see it they will be like...what the fuck?

Be careful. I would think if they saw things like the efans turned on and TQM turned off or down etc that it would be clear that wasnt a stock tune, which could viod any warrenty work.

Hmmm. Where's Allen? I told the service advisor what I have done to the truck, whipple, new pcm, and he said he would hook it up to techII or whatever they use to make sure everthing is cool, no detonation etc. I'm just curious what would happen if they do flash it. Also, my speedometer is off by 2mph with the new pcm. How do I fix it?

I am sure Allen will post up, but just using the techII will not effect the tune at all. Only if they reflash it for some reason. And they will only do that if you take it in for pcm issues.
I don't think the dealerships have the capability to see individual items like efans, tqmgt etc.. They just dump the entire tune during a reflash etc. They can also download certain updates as well.
Don't worry about it. Even if they reflash it for some reason, Allen can reload it as I am sure he has your file saved.

yes theycan veiw tables with the tech2 but they will only do that if you sare having pcm problems. if they are just doing service work they wont even check it out.they can reset codes and read them and do everything they need to do without even messing with your tune. im not sure about uploading updates into it. is it under warranty? what kind of work are you having done.

The dealer can't edit and see all the tables we do with edit, however they can see the results, for example the higher timing, etc.
If they flash your pcm, it will be back to stock, and I'll have to send another one out to you.
You mentioned that you had a tad of KR, did it work it's way out, what rpm, what gear if it's still there.
The tech II is bidirectional, but it's changes are temporary, like RAM in a PC.
They can do all the reading they want and not hurt anything, but if they flash it, you will loose your tuning.

let me know if i can help out,

The problem I was having with KR and major timing drop between 3-4 shift seems to have fixed itself. I want the dealership to make sure everything is on the up and up as far as detonation, air/fuel etc. What should I specifically ask them to find out for me? I see people talking about ltrim, what is that? On a side note, I still get the SES code P0101(i think) MAF low circuit or something like that. Don't know why. I'm ditching the airbox this week for an aftermarket cone filter.

The truck is basically running awesome. I am impressed with the tune. Thanks again. I'll probably call you before I drop the truck off at the dealership so I can tell them what to look for.

Good on the 3-4 shift problems, sometimes a tune will fix most non mechanical problems or complaints.
I would try to pinpoint KR, a/f ratio and ltrims still need attention, but not as much as KR on a boosted truck.
If you have KR, don't let them flash your PCM, sometimes there are bulletins or new calibrations that fix KR issues, you have the latest cal. so there's no need for that. So, don't let them tell you that lol,
if you have a low maf circuit, that is almost a maf problem, i would switch it out and see if it goes away, i had one on another car and it turned out it was bad. If you have a buddy that has one, try that.

Thanks on the comments, and don't forget you get free updates or corrections for the life of the truck,

    later,

    allen
