would i be able to put an ls2 in my truck with about the same amount of hassle as an lq9? and would an ls2 outperform the lq9 in my 2005 silvy rcsb?

yes, an LS2 has more HP and is lighter than a LQ4 or LQ9. You will need to have the knock sensors tapped to fit the old style sensors(they are on the side of the LS2 block) and you'll need extensions for the knock sensor and cam sensor(mounted in the front timing cover).
