Blonde is a rare and valuable hair color.
Although blonde hair is quite common among people, it is actually quite rare: Central and Northern Europe is the only area where so many people are born with naturally blonde hair. Blondie is defined as a color from very light (typical for residents of the Baltic States) to slightly brown (Slavic blondie). This, in fact, is a rare shade that many dark-haired ladies envy us. Blonde genes.
Scientists believe that blonde hair is the cause of a rare gene mutation that can manifest itself in any ethnic group, so many children have blonde hair that darkens later. However, adults in Central and Northern Europe also have blonde hair. The reason is not completely clear to this day, and only some time ago scientists were able to determine that it was most likely responsible for a slight decrease in the expression of the KITLG gene.
People with blond hair and blue eyes appeared in Europe about eleven thousand years ago. Interestingly, archaeological excavations show that this type of beauty used to be present on the Iberian Peninsula, today being associated more with dark-skinned brunettes.
