I guess I'm reliving my youth or at least giving it a go.

Needed a "new" truck but couldn't stomach the cost of new or even slightly used. Looked for almost a year and found my 1990 Chevy C1500 close to me. It lived it's first 25 years in Arizona, moved to Minnesota for five years and then came to me. It had never been driven in the winter so it is rust free. BIG deal in my neck if the woods.

Long story short the engine is very tired and after doing a head job and finding a cracked head (good used head installed) I've decided to do an LS swap instead of just a rebuild of the 5.7 in it now. Hopefully I'll gain reliability, power and some fuel mileage. Going with a 5.3 swap (and trans???) just not sure which generation yet.

I'm sure many questions to come. I'm an old hot roder from way back when but was a Pontiac guy then with my 66 GTO. Haven't done anything since about 1978 or so. I'm WAY behind the eightball now!
