Rag joint elimination, who's done it?

I got tired of my sloppy steering and tore apart the steering shaft. Originally I was going to install a U-joint on the stock shaft like described in this article
    http://www.gmtruckcentral.com/articl...djustment.html

I noticed that my factory u-joint had a torn boot though, so I did a little more digging and found the Jeep steering shaft swap.

So while I wait for my jeep shaft to come in from ebay, I was wondering who has done something like this to their trucks?

Got my steering shaft today, and it didn't go as planned. I found a way to make it work anyways, just had to take a little more involved approach.
The u-joint for the steering box fit, but nothing else did. So I pulled the jeep shaft apart and found that half of the jeep shaft slid into the stock shaft (rag joint already removed). I cut it to a reasonable length and welded it on. Painted it all up and it fits like a glove. So glad I have a decent welder
