    LQ9 1988 K1500 transmission options help

hey I'm new to this site and need a few questions answered. i currently have a 1988 K1500 4x4 and a 2002 LQ9. i have done most of my homework besides transmission options and how a 4l80e, 4l60e will line up with my front and rear drive shafts. i know what type of transferase i need and the correct spline.

I just need to know what kind of modifications will be needed and what year transmission either a 60 or 80E will fit my 02 LQ9.

    thanks.

The 4l60 is the same size as a 700r, so that should be a direct swap for you. Unless you do not currently have a 700r? 4l80 is roughly an inch longer, so you would either need to bump your engine up an ince with an adjustable mount, or get a special yoke/driveshaft built.

What about alignment with the front differential? Let's say I use adjustable slider mounts, what's to say the 4l80e lines up correctly? A 4l80 would be my preferred option
