    2004 Silverado 2500 brake question.

I have a 2004 2500 Silverado non hd. I'm doing the brakes on it and I'm having trouble finding the exact part number for brakes. They say you need to know if you have a 4 5/8 hub hole or a 4 7/8. Any way I can know without taking it apart and measuring? I would think I would be able to find the info somewhere but I've checked around a lot. Anyone know off the top of your head? Thanks, Dave.

Dave, maybe you can use the RPO(regular production order) code for the brakes. The codes are listed somewhere on the vehicle. I don't know where it is located on your truck, but, older trucks had it inside the glove box. Brake codes usually have the prefix JB.
The RPO code will tell exactly which brake system your truck was built with. When ordering parts, this code can be helpful. Good luck.

Thanks! I'll check that out. I figured there had to be an easier way than to take it apart and measure. Cheers!

If I had to guess I would say that one will be the light duty 2500 (6 lug) and the other would be the heavy 2500 (8 lug).

It's an 8 lug, but mine is the standard 2500 and not the HD. I bet it's pretty close to the 1500hd they made for a few years.

the RPO codes are located on the glove box, open it and there is a white label that will list them all
