Which Cam package and stall for SCSB 2000 chevy w/ LQ9 engine

working on saving for my next upgrade which will be electric fans, cam, lifters, roller rockers, and a stall. I already have long tube headers (no cats), air intake, custom tune. Question is i am new to cams and such but from what I have heard the size of the torq converter will tell you what type of cam to get (could be wrong). Just wanting opinions on size, setup, anything addition you installed along with cam. thanks

your cam should determine converter size, and the cam size is determined by what your plans with the truck are. is it a DD, weekend toy, full on racer etc....

The difference between winning and losing, is having a 2nd stage.

its not a daily driver, so i would say its a weekend toy. I have another vehicle that my DD. So I would like it to have a pretty hefty cam but not full on racing one. I would like to get more top end power. These LQ9 have a lot of low end torq but top end it lacks a good amount. I would think a cam would help in that area a little.

Tried true 6.0 cam that can lay a smack down with good street manners.
    A circle d 3600 to match.

Howard's or Texas speed(comp) and the lope will be in the tune.

    I used a stock ls2 cam with 243 heads and a 2500 stall in my 01 z71
no tune yet I just put it in last week it lopes decient already and runs strong
hope to get her tuned this week if I can scrape up the funds
I've been being easy on it but you know I had to get on it at least once
it stalled up good about burnt the back tires off shifted into second and lit them up again
    no power issues
but its my dd so I didn't want anything crazy!!!!!

if its a toy then anything less then 3600 is small. A bone stock LS motor can benefit from a 4000 stall

as for cam that depends on all your supporting mods and final goals for truck

a good mild street manor 6litre mid 230s cam is what id target
    more aggressive street/strip high 230s/low 240s

    daily driver mid 220s
    2002 Lightning - GT headed 5.5Litre w/ Twin 7665s
    2002 Silverado - 427Lsx w/ Twin gt4202s
    2010 Silverado crewcab Z71 - 5.3litre w/ procharger
    2000 Wrangler - 5.3litre with some stance
    2014 Xsport- 3.5 Eco boost
    412 Motorsports

it ain't that I'm too big to listen to the rumors, It's just that I'm too damn big to pay attention to 'em..That's the difference
