built lc9 vs stock lq9 swap

alot of people tell me to stay away from the lc9 5.3 because of the afm/dod problems, but I already have it, I paid $400 for it including the harness, computer, alternator, starter, AC, all i need is the pedal. I want to put it in my 1995 f150, should i do the afm/dod delete and a 212/218 cam? is it worth bulding? or should i just look for a lq4/9 for my daily driver?

my LC9 was a VVT/DOD motor and I deleted all of that crap recently and installed a 218/218 cam along with trick flows. the stock springs on the lc9 are so weak you can open them with your fist

it ain't that I'm too big to listen to the rumors, It's just that I'm too damn big to pay attention to 'em..That's the difference

Do the delete. Install the cam.
    It'll be just fine.
