    2013 Silverado rear bumber

So thanks to the snow and ice here in Missouri, I slid backwards into a small retaining wall and messed up my rear bumper. Called the dealership who wants $795 for a new one. Went online and found some aftermarket OEM bumpers, but am kind of skeptical on the quality. My truck only has 5,000 miles on it, so I'm not going to put junk parts on. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

the stock rear bumper is several pieces. what piece is actually damaged? you may be able to buy the part not the whole assembly

If you're looking at the rear of the truck, it would be the right side chrome part and the black plastic in the middle. How are the pieces held together?

that shouldnt be that bad then. plastic pieces snap in place, the chrome pieces are bolted in place. the only part of rear bumper that has strength is the impact bar that is in the middle

correct, i had my bumper fully apart so every piece could of been color matched white

FYI side pieces are so flimsy that you can pull them back in place if you tweak them. I jack knifed my trailer once and the tongue box hit the bumper and pushed it into bed side. with some tugging of the end of bumper i was able to get it back in factory place.

Good to know, and thanks again! I was afraid rivets would have to be drilled out.

George C, I ordered the parts I needed, but I was looking at the parts diagram, and there is a rivet shown. Where does that rivet go? It's # 9 and have it listed as an end cap rivet.
