I noticed from the pictures that you were using the same print out guide I will be using from a member here. You also said the guide was wrong. Can you better explain what exactly was wrong with it? I have a 98 that I will be swapping a 5.3 into this spring and Id rather not go down the same road you did with the wiring hiccup. Was it indeed a glitch in the print out guide or was it a sensor/connector problem???

Also, did your Tahoe have the EVO sensor on the OEM PS pump and if so what did you do with that circuit?

I did away with that plug on the PS pump. Its not really needed all that much other than bumping the RPM up when you steer all the way from one side or the other. I dont have an issue with it right now and I dont believe I will in the future.
Been lurking since 09 and I finally have my kickass 6.0 LQ4
LQ4 LQ9 6.0L Engine Service Manual Save to your computer in case it disappears

I would have taken that back to the guy that did it and slapped him in the face with it. That's ridiculous.

I'm considering a very similar swap. I need a daily driver that can fit into. Any idea what the mpg will be over time?
