In my home town area there are hundreds of people who on Weekends cruise their vehicles and run on the streets. Most are very lame ricer builds and crapstangs. Very few will run faster than 14s. I have been thinking about an idea for a long time now. Basically an ugly build that looks completely stock. Even when you open the hood 99% of people won't know what's going on underneath.
NBS RCSB 4x4 GM truck 4.8/5.3. $4000
6.0/80e $1800 complete with factor engine cover
Cam/valvetrain rebuild $1200
Stall$1000
Mild trans rebuild $500
AWD swap $1200
200 shot of Spray via tapped throttlebody spacer $800
Fuel upgrades $1000
Rear locker/gears $1000
Stock 16s widened to accommodate slightly wider rear tires. $300
Drag radials on all 4 tires $1000
My idea is to hustle for a little cash. Everything will be really well hidden and appear very stock. Even the cam/tune/exhaust will be setup to appear tame/quiet at idle. The hope is to use a newer truck to run similar to the farm truck. I don't expect it to be a money maker, but just something I can have some fun with and surprise some people. I would expect mid 12s on the spray and low 13s NA, but something that on the street will fly under the radar while smoking some ricers and wannabes. The stance paint wheels body work headlights and even the interior will look very stock everything aftermarket will be hidden as well as possible. All GO and zero show. Thoughts?
