    Is it supposed to quit?

I have a 1999 silverado with the 4.8. Today, while the engine was running, i reached down and unplugged the coolant temp. sensor, the one on the drivers side head, and the engine quit. is it supposed to quit if this is unplugged? It is the sensor for the temp. gauge..

Coolant temp sensor will make it dump more fuel for say when you first crank it up in the morning then when it heats up it stops dumping as much fuel so when u unplugged it, it was if it was reading a cold temp and dumped more fuel and killed the truck some one please correct me if I'm wrong.

The coolant temp sensor controls basically every fuel table in the ecm... so yeah.
